NO BLAME: THE MOST LIBERATING and empowering day of my life was the day I freed myself from my own self-destructive nonsense.
Blink 182’s line from “Please Tell Me Why” comes to mind: “It’s no surprise to me I am my own worst enemy”. Ain’t that the truth?
What you tell yourself, your internal narrative, can be a huge limiting factor in your life. Of course, you believe completely who you tell yourself who you are, because you are saying it! And thus, you don’t think you are worthy. That you are limited by your job and circumstance. You believe there’s no reason to excel.
Yes, you believe these lies that you tell yourself. Because they are you, inside you. But they are just a story. And some parts can be very untrue: just lies you’ve learned to live with.
So what if you could liberate yourself? Change the story. Free yourself from that self-destructive crap? Leave it behind. And be something new, different, better. Yes, this is often easier said than done, but don’t believe that excuse either. It’s another story too.
Remember, self improvement, positive change, requires a conscious active process. It requires a decision. It requires changing your inner story.
Yes, it’ll require effort…. And not accepting the crap that you feed yourself. So today, free yourself. And be better for it.
Today, I escaped from anxiety. Or no, I discarded it, because it was within me, in my own perceptions – not outside. ~~ Marcus Aurelius
