Resenting Change

TO RESENT CHANGE IS TO wrongly assume that you have a choice in the matter.

Mindlessly Shane stood there in line at the cash register. “Take a penny, give a penny”, the dish said. Life was full of change, he knew. And not just in the little dishes and jars of convenience stores. It was everywhere. The world constantly moved forward. Oh sure, people often believe that the world is static. But was it really? Not likely. He wasn’t exactly the same person he was a year ago. Who knew what the next year would hold for him? A year older, hopefully some additional wisdom and knowledge. And things inevitably would change. Those who resisted change only get weighed down as it accumulates in their pockets, slowing them down.
